  5.         TYPE-IT  converts your  computer  into a typewriter.
  6.     Print text to your  printer letter  by letter, line by line,
  7.     or  page by  page.  TYPE-IT  is  NOT  a  word processor, and
  8.     its features are  few and simple.  Ideal for quick notes and
  9.     memos.

  11.     [F1] Set a new tab position interval.
  12.  
  13.     [F2] Permits  the  user to  change  the mode  by  which text
  14.     characters will be  sent to the printer.
  15.  
  16.     Mode [0]: Each  character  typed  into the  keyboard will be
  17.     sent  immediately  to the  printer.  You must  identify your
  18.     printer  at the  appropriate prompt.  If your  printer  is a
  19.     dot  matrix  printer and not  specifically an EPSON,  or IBM
  20.     brand, select the  [E] Epson LQ/FX  choice.  Most dot matrix
  21.     printers emulate the Epson printer  as their default.  Space
  22.     characters (ASCII 32) do not print  on dot  matrix  printers
  23.     until a printable character is  typed to the keyboard.  This
  24.     is not a bug but rather a limitation of dot matrix printers.

  26.     Mode [1]: The current  line of  text  will be  sent  to  the
  27.     printer after the [ENTER] or  [RETURN] key is pressed.  This
  28.     is the default.

  30.     Mode [3]: Text  will be  sent to  the  printer for  every 55
  31.     lines of text entered.

  33.     [F3] Prints all  text entered  up to the point that this key
  34.     is pressed, and then ejects the page from the printer.

  36.     [F4] Permits  the  user  to  save  all text  entered  up  to
  37.     the current cursor position to a user given file name.
  38.  
  39.     [F5] Places  the date  into the  text at  the current cursor
  40.     position.
  41.  
  42.     [F6] Places the  time into  the text  at the  current cursor
  43.     position.
  44.  
  45.     [F7] Places  the user's  name into  the text  at the current
  46.     cursor position (applies only to registered users).
  47.  
  48.     [F8] Allows the user to set left and right margins.
  49.  
  50.     [F9] Displays the files on  the default disk.  Select a file
  51.     from the directory  list and  TYPE-IT will  send it  to your
  52.     printer.  Press [ENTER] without  a  file name to  abort this
  53.     function and return to  your current document.  This feature
  54.     is available to registered users only.
  55.  
  56.     [F10] Exits the program.
